The idea for Kurgo was formed after the adoption of Zelda, my 70lb, hyper active Plot hound mix. As a young family, we traveled all over with her. Car trips became the most difficult, and we needed a way to keep her from jumping up front – especially as we grew. Using my design background I took my idea from sketch to product. The end result was just what my family needed, and what Kurgo now appropriately calls the Backseat Barrier.

Since then, my brother and I have worked hard to develop a personable company that makes the very best dog travel and active dog products. Constantly constructing and testing new ideas that we pull from our real life needs, even continuing to test, hand-sew and mold prototypes through the design process. We know our products are the best because they are what we use every day. We are a small team here, based just north of Boston, MA. If you call our office, you are going to speak to our accountant June or our sales manager Mike, maybe even myself… and if you stop in to say Hi, you will probably get to meet Rocket or Yogi, or one of our other furry friends that comes to work with us every day.

As Kurgo has grown we still keep our design process and general mission the same, to create great dog products that make traveling and getting out with your dog easy – the way it should be. Each employee here has their own dog story which has been incorporated into what we do. And there are certain regulations and manufacturer restrictions that we have to adhere to. We want to be completely upfront with you about what those things are. Restocking Fees
Some of our manufacturers charge restocking fees of up to 30% for merchandise that is returned for reasons other than manufacturer defect. Restocking fees (if applicable) are listed in the "Specifications" tab for each product on our website.

Refund Amounts
Also, it is important for you to be aware that if the dog product you purchased qualified for a “Free Shipping” promotion, the actual outbound shipping costs will be deducted from your refund amount (we will provide you with the exact amount when the return is processed).

Manufacturer Defect
If there is a manufacturer defect and you would like a replacement for the exact item you received, please contact us. If you would like a refund rather than a replacement, outbound shipping will be deducted from your refund.
